Right – Chronos has now set a new personal record for editing. This isn’t due to any particular desire to set a record, it’s more because he had to edit and post this episode – concerning the newest 1.3 update – before hopping on the longest plane ride in his life. Albion and Guard help round out the triangular-shaped cast this time, and we all laugh at various points. That’s what an episode needs, right? RIGHT!?
Not gonna sugar-coat this one – we’re late. Very, very late. So late, that the game this podcast is about released while we were away. This is mostly due to Chronos being both hideously unlucky, and an idiot. Well, no matter – we’re starting this train again. On this episode, we talk about why, exactly, Chronos is both hideously unlucky – and an idiot – as well as look at the most recent news with Mojang, some projects involving or having been blatantly inspired by Minecraft, some mods, and some miscellaneous things as well. Oh, yeah! We also have another guest with us! You’ll have to listen to the episode to figure it out; spoiling the surprise that it’s Codename from ASEMBLE is…ahhh, crap.
Oh, and on a side note…remember the funny censoring of swear words in this show? Chronos has magically determined that all 7 of our fans are probably adults anyway, and has stopped censoring swears. If, by next episode, he gets a mountain of hatemail concerning this, the censoring will probably come back.
The short version is “Chronos, whose life has sucked more than usual for the past 6 months, is finally starting to get past said sucking.” We’ll try and start recording episodes for all 12 of our fans again shortly. In the meantime, why not join our brand-new Official THUD MC server? Just plug in THUDMC.THEPODKAST.COM in your direct connect multiplayer browser, and we’ll see you there! We’ve even got a mumble server, too! mumble.kritzkast.com! See, simple enough!
And, in all seriousness – We’re sorry for taking so long. We’ll try and make it back up to you.
Aren’t hard drive crashes wonderful? They force you to suddenly purchase a new component for the inside of your PC, without any warning whatsoever! It’s almost like a surprise car repair!
Why am I leading off with this? No reason. Besides, we’ve got a new episode talking about some of the new 1.8 – and, leaking all over the internet, 1.9 – changes to the game, the usual plethora of interesting mods, and best of all, our first interview! We talk with Eilavamp and Ollieraiden about their series, Random’s Craft! Trust me, it was worth the wait! Err, wait, there was no wait. What am I talking about? No wait at all. Nope.
Were you expecting this episode to be about the 1.8 adventure update? What a coincidence – so were we! Tragically, we’re going to have to wait even longer before we get to be killed by lanky shadow-things. Until then, we talk about some real-world happenings with Mojang, and some new mods that have popped out of the community – Like being able to make ARMIES TO FIGHT FOR YOUR AMUSEMENT! MUAHAHAHA!
Oh, and someone is walking across several Earths to see the strangest landscape there is. It’ll take about a year.
Unfortunately, it appears that we’ll still be waiting a while for the famed Adventure update to finally come out. Oh well – there are plenty more things to do in Minecraft, right? Like ride a roller coaster, play a game of connect four, poke a chicken with a stick – OH DEAR LORD WHAT IS THAT!? RUUUUUUUUUN!
Yes, yes, I’ll get this out of the way – it’s not Minecraft, but I know some of you would be interested in this as well. We’ve got a Dwarf Fortress Bloodlines game staging on the TPK Forums! If you’re interested, head over to the thread and take a look! Hope to see you over there!
So! Clearly, we’re staying on the “Deadly devices” motif – we’ve taken a look at the most recent 1.6 patch, speculate a bit about the upcoming 1.7 patch, yammered a bit about games somewhat reminiscent of Minecraft, and take a look at some more mods. Oh – also, apparently someone DDOS’ed the Minecraft website or something.
So, I had this great idea for a trap involving a minecart, some lava, some explosives, a supercharged creeper, a chicken -
Oh, right – Episode. This time, we talk about various ways to blow up things. Mostly. There are also some other games, and some mods and whatnot. BUT THE FIRE AND EXPLOSIONS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS HERE!
This month, we take a long, hard, totally not suggestive look at the newest Minecraft update. Speaking of wolves, we also take a look at another game that seems very familiar…
We also tackle a whole pile of mods: A heavenly paradise, a chest that pops out of your dead corpse, and…wait, PLANES!? Screw this post, I’m flying right now.
